HOW?

Constitution of a European axis, which will facilitate the traffic of passenger trains at 200 kilometres per hour, and of goods trains at 140 kilometres, with bend radii of over 1,200 metres and slopes of under 20 per thousand. The route would be Zaragoza-Huesca-Ossun, through the valleys of Gallego and Gave de Pau. It will also mean, bearing in mind the geographical situation of the Aragonese capital, that Zaragoza will act as multimodal platform for exchanges between the Iberian Peninsula and the North of Europe.

To achieve this, the construction of 200 kilometres of new railway tracks is foreseen, part of which can use existing stretches of tracks; a low altitude tunnel of 39 kilometres long in the centre of the Pyrenean mountain range, and another of 10 kilometres under the Caballero mountain range.
